If you order this apple from William's & Sonoma, it will cost you $23!!! Jackie got this recipe off of a talk show a few years ago- we're so lucky to have this gourmet recipe- it is heavenly with Honey Crisp apples.
24 oz. of Guittard Milk Chocolate Chips
Caramels (about 80 or 2 bags)- Must be Merry Maid by Kraft (Brach's won't allow the chocolate to stick to it- it slides right off).
2 tblsp. light corn syrup
3 tbls. vanilla
6 Fuji or Honey Crisp apples
Parchment paper
Wash apples and dry completely. Insert wooden sticks (don't use lolli-pop, they'll disinegrate). Place parchment paper.
Put corn syrup, caramels and vanilla in microwave for 4-5 minutes, stirring every minute.
Dip apples in melted caramel, covering entire apple in caramel. Place onto parchment paper. After about 30 minutes, the apples will be cool. When they are cool enough, they will completely release from paper and you will know they are done.
Melt chocolate according to directions, around 90 degrees. You may add 1 tbls. shortening for shine.
Dip apple in chocolate. Add anything from M&M's, Heath bars, chopped pretzels, peanut butter chips, sprinkles, etc. after dipped in chocolate. Refrigerate exactly 15 minutes. You may also drizzle white chocolate over apples for added presentation.
