This is from my Taste of Home Cookbook. The kids ate it all up, and it was healthy and hearty and easy!
1 lb. hamburger
4 cups water
1 can diced tomatoes, undrained (I left this out)
3 medium carrots, sliced
2 medium potatoes, cubed
1 medium onion
1 cup chopped celery (be sure to put the top part that looks like leaves, it gives a lot of flavor. Chop it finely.)
4 beef bouillon cubes (or 4 tsp granulated bouillon)
couple dashes of salt
1/2 tsp dried oregeno
1/2 tsp tarragon leaves
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 cup green beans (optional)
Brown ground beef in a pot. Drain and rinse meat. Add all of the other ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer as long as possible (20 min- 1 hour). We served with grated Monteray Jack cheese on top, and tortilla chips.
